One-Line Bio

I am an insatiably curious teacher/learner with a passion for what is "true, real, and important".

Biography

I am a husband and father who loves to work with students of all ages. We are presently living in Denver where I am participating in two missional projects: (1) a missional "village" under the umbrella of Adullam, a community of communities located in Denver (check them out at www.adullamdenver.org) and (2) JEX, morphing present-day Jim Elliot School into a larger Jim Elliot Experience where quality high school academics (core and creative) can be enhanced by joining older adults in actual missional adventures which can become integrating and transformational (spiritually, physically, intellectually and emotionally) for everyone involved.

Strengths and personality-wise, I am an INTJ according to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, a "relentless innovator in thought as well as in action".

Using the True Colors Learning Style Assessment, I am a rather unusual learner combination of Green (Abstract-Sequential) as my primary comfort zone but have a strong secondary streak of Orange (Concrete Random).

For those familiar with Strengthfinders ("Living Your Strengths: Discover Your God-Given Talents and Inspire Your Community" by Winseman, Clifton, and Liesveld) the test indicates my strengths to be in this order: Maximizer, Input, Connectedness, Individualization, and Ideation. Maximizer means that strengths, whether yours or someone elses, fascinate me and I love to explore the implications of how God has wired you. Input means simply that I am insatiably inquisitive. Connectedness means that I see that we are all connected to each other and that things happen for a reason often driven by God's hand. Individualization means that I am intrigued by the uniqueness in you and in every individual. Finally, Ideation means that I love to live in the world of ideas because ideas are my means of making sense of the world, right or wrong, good or bad, and often both.
